Hartley’s Cafe Bistro Happenings
At Hartley’s we are always looking for something new and exciting to bring to the café. We certainly never allow a high day or holiday to pass by without it being celebrated. So Christmas, New Year, Robbie Burn’s birthday and Easter are so well honoured. Then there are the afternoons of poetry and music, in particular Jazz.
Or our annual tradition celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau, its a beautiful story of a very young wine but best told over lunch. Always on the third Thursday of November which happens to be the 26th November this year. Its a delightful French affair beautifully celebrated at Hartley’s. However you do need to book as its a very popular event.
Our little Bistro, situated in the heart of the Mendip hills is often visited by cyclists who stop in for a cuppa or motorcycle enthusiasts out on a breakfast run over the weekend and you will often find some very graceful vintage motor vehicles that grace our car park whilst their owners or club members lunch with us.
From time to time we invite talented chefs with with interesting life stories to tell both on the plate and to their audience.
Our curry nights are one of our great specialities where Paul and Lynda use their knowledge of their travels around India to provide you with a spectacular range of curries.
Our menu’s reflect each and every celebration, from the day to day through to the best of occasions.
